ZDF adds four docuseries

ZDF Enterprises is growing its non-scripted catalog with four docuseries.

Legendary Heroes (3 x 60 minutes), The Year that Rocked the World (5 x 50 minutes), Rescued Chimpanzees of the Congo with Jane Goodall (5 x 50 minutes) and Underworld (5 x 50 minutes) all completed filming this month.

Legendary Heroes, produced by NFP Media Rights with ARTE as co-producer, comes from ZDF’s Terra X documentary slot and was filmed in nine countries across Europe. The series looks at fantastical stories such as King Arthur and the tale of Siegfried and the Nibelungen, seeking their origin and whether any truth exists to these legends.

The Year That Rocked the World celebrates extraordinary global moments in politics, cinema, crime, celebrity, sports, disasters, science, inventions, music and the arts, over the course of a single year. The series combines archival footage and interviews with well-known facestto cover five different years: 1977, 1981, 1989, 1997 and 2004. Off the Fence produced the series for CuriosityStream with ZDF Enterprises and zdf.info.

Rescued Chimpanzees of The Congo with Jane Goodall was filmed over 30 years, revealing Goodall’s journey to create the largest chimp sanctuary in Africa. The sanctuary is challenged daily by issues like malnutrition, disease and paralysis. Off the Fence produced the series with the support of the Jane Goodall Institute for CuriosityStream in association with ZDF Enterprises.

Underworld was filmed in five international locations including the caves of Gibraltar to the largest caverns on Earth in China, building a detailed picture of a unique world hidden below our feat. This series was also produced by Off the Fence for CuriosityStream with ZDF Enterprises, as well as Youku and Windsight.

U.S. favorites like The Masked Singer, The Masked Dancer, Mental Samurai, Celebrity Watch Party, First Responders Live, Labor of Love, Let’s Be Real, Name That Tune and Ultimate Tag will now be available.

“Fox’s marquee titles launching in Canada comes at an optimal time when our Canadian audience is growing at a rapid pace,” said Adam Lewinson, chief content officer, Tubi, in a news release. “We’ve seen Fox content resonate with our viewers in the U.S., so we’re thrilled for our audience in Canada to now have these premium series at their fingertips.”

Talpa signs deal with Eureka Productions

Talpa Concepts and Eureka Productions have inked a deal targeting linear and OTT markets in Australia. The deal gives Eureka exclusive rights to sell and produce all Talpa formats including Marble Mania, Avastars, Hunting Season, A Quiz For You, Hit the Road and Kids Buy a House.

The deal follows Talpa’s exclusive partnerships with Dok1 Media in Belgium, Satisfaction Group in France and Seven One Entertainment Group in Germany, as the Dutch media company looks for partners to grow its brands in various territories.

“It’s creative shows like Holey Moley that immediately draw my attention,” said Talpa founder John de Mol. “I look forward to working together with this next-generation production company. We have a similar taste for creation and distribution.”

Autentic secures slate of global sales

Factual distributor Autentic Distribution has sold the feature documentary In Search of Monsters (pictured) to several TV channels, as part of a raft of new sales.

Chadian artist Abdoulaye Nderguet.

The meeting of the unique voice of the Chadian singer Abdoulaye Nderguet and the borderless blues of Bex’tet, a trio led by the French pianist and organist Emmanuel Bex with the guitarist Antonin Fresson and the drummer Tristan Bex, gave birth to an album: Soul of the blues, to be released in February 2022.

After a date in October at Triton, in the small town of Lilas, in Seine-Saint-Denis, followed by an African tour through the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Guinea, Togo and Angola, the quartet of circumstance will be on stage on December 7 at the French Institute of N’Djamena. A return to the fold for Abdoulaye Nderguet, born in 1972 in the Chadian capital, whose song brings together all the musical traditions of his country.

Abdoulaye Nderguet & Bex’tet will also be in concert in France, on December 16 at Counter in Fontenay-sous-Bois (94), in the company of the Franco-Syrian flautist Naïssam Jalal, and on January 10 at Saint-Denis Jazz Club / Line 13 (93).

The plastic artist Gastineau Massamba.

Until January 29, 2022, the Anne de Villepoix gallery is dedicating an exhibition to the work of Gastineau Massamba. Born in 1973 in the Republic of Congo, graduated from the Tsiémé-Brazzaville School of Fine Arts, the sculptor, painter and poet mixes artistic expressions (paintings, performances, writing, installations) and practices (charcoal, watercolor, ink de chine…) to work on the themes of the body and geopolitics. In the exhibition “Mandola…” at Anne de Villepoix, he returns to painting. His paintings evoke human figures as if thrown on the road, fleeing political or social violence.

Also in the French capital, the Magnin-A gallery presents the exhibition “Zoar”, by Marcel Miracle from December 9 to February 26, 2022. The opportunity to (re) discover the work of the artist, designer and poet born in Madagascar, and his vivid imagination, inhabited by the divination, the Malagasy divinatory art to which he was initiated.

“The Flower Girl”, by Evans Mbugua (detail).

From December 4 until January 9, 2022, the artist duo Moustapha Baidi Oumarou and Evans Mbugua present the exhibition “Power Flower” at the Out Of Africa (OOA) Contemporary Art Gallery, located in Sitges, in the province of Barcelona.

The meeting of two generations – the first was born in 1997 in Maroua in the Far North region of Cameroon, the other in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1979 – for “Celebrate life and beauty in an idealized world free from borders, prejudices and inhibitions”, indicates the gallery. The radiant faces of the portraits of Evans Mbugua, all in brilliance and pictograms, and the silhouettes with dignified poses and brilliant colors of Moustapha Baidi Oumarou, marry perfectly.

Alec Baldwin says comments about safety protocols on movie sets from actors including George Clooney did not help in the aftermath of the fatal shooting that occurred during the filming of Rust earlier this year.

In his first sit-down interview since the incident, the 63-year-old actor told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that he didn’t appreciate the comments Clooney, 60, made after the tragedy.

“How do you respond to actors like George Clooney who say that every time they were handed a gun, they checked it themselves?” the 60-year-old Good Morning America anchor asked.

“Well, there were a lot of people who felt it necessary to contribute some comment to the situation, which really didn’t help the situation,” Baldwin began. “At all.”

“If your protocol is you check the gun every time, well, good for you. I’ve probably handled weapons as much as any other actor in films with an average career. Again, shooting or being shot by someone,” he continued. “And in that time, I had a protocol and it never let me down.”

Baldwin held the gun that discharged and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza on Oct. 21. Baldwin explained in the interview that he never pulled the trigger — he just cocked it and “let go of the hammer” when it fired.

Last month, Clooney likened the incident to the 1993 death of his late friend Brandon Lee, who was killed in an accidental shooting while making the movie The Crow.

“I’ve been on sets for 40 years and the person that hands you the gun, the person that is responsible for the gun is either the prop or the armorer, period,” Clooney said on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast.

“Now every single time I’m handed a gun on the set, every time they hand me a gun I look at it, I open it. I show it to the person I’m pointing it to, I show it to the crew. Every single take you had to back to the armorer when you’re done,” he explained. “You do it again and part of it is because of what happened to Brandon, everyone does it. Everybody knows and maybe Alec did that, hopefully he did do that.”

During his interview with Stephanopoulos, Baldwin walked through his personal procedure when handling a gun on set. The star said that the prop professional would take the weapon from him if he maneuvered any of its mechanics, and reset it.

“The prop person said, ‘Don’t do that,’ when I was young,” he explained. “And they’d say, ‘One thing you would need to understand is we don’t want the actor to be the last line of defense against any catastrophic breach of safety with the gun. My job is to make sure the gun is safe and then I hand you the gun and I declare the gun is safe. The crew is not relying on you to say that it’s safe. They’re relying on me to say that it’s safe.’ “

“When that person who is charged with that job handed me the weapon, I trusted them,” the Academy Award nominee continued. “And I never had a problem.”

Digging deeper, Stephanopoulos asked what Baldwin feels is the actor’s responsibility is in such a situation.

“I guess that’s a tough question because the actor’s responsibility going this day forward is very different than it was the day before that,” Baldwin said of how times have changed.

“First of all I can’t imagine that I’d ever do a movie that had a gun in it again,” he explained, before adding “The actor’s responsibility is to do what the prop armorer tells them to do.”

The film’s armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has defended her work, saying through her attorney Jason Bowles in a statement previously shared with PEOPLE that she did not think live bullets would end up on the Rust set “in a million years,” and she did not know how they got there.

“Hannah did everything in her power to ensure a safe set. She inspected the rounds that she loaded into the firearms that day. She always inspected the rounds,” Bowles said, in part.

On Friday, Sweden will play its World Cup premiere in handball.

But it is only on Tuesday that the national team’s World Cup really starts against the Netherlands.

For that match, they are now in top form with the help of SOK’s expert.

– Then we will have Pommac in the thighs, says Tomas Axnér.

Sweden gets a soft start in the handball World Cup when they start against very weak Uzbekistan (Friday) and Puerto Rico (Sunday).

Then the initial group game against the reigning world champions the Netherlands ends.

– That match will be very important for the rest of our tournament, says Linn Blohm.

– That match will determine our fate in the World Cup, says the national team captain Tomas Axnér.

If Sweden wins against the Netherlands (it is 50/50 in advance), they are in the quarterfinals with more than one leg already before the intermediate round. But if there is a loss, you will have to beat the gold favorite, and the old ghost, Norway in the intermediate round.

“Should have Pommac in the thighs”

Axnér does not deny that the team’s focus is already on the Netherlands. There is still no risk of going on a shock loss against the blueberry nations.

Therefore, he will use the two initial matches and the days around them to maximize the form.

The team has managed to dot the form before. In the Olympics, the goal was to be in top physical shape for match two against Russia.

– We talked all summer about having champagne in our legs at the Olympics. Three days before the match against Russia, the players said they still had no foam in their legs. But when we then played the match, they said “Damn, it’s just small”. It was Richard Nilsson’s job that was behind it and it was magical how that top of form sat, says Axnér.

Nilsson is SOK’s physics manager and he now helps the team as well.

– I have had contact with Richard to get a microform top against the Netherlands, maybe not with champagne in the thighs but with Pommac in any case, says Axnér.

– I even think that we can train a handball session on match days (against Uzbekistan and Puerto Rico) with a focus on later matches and of course we would not have done that during a European Championship.

Dark tactical moves

In the Olympics, Axnér started with basically the same line-up in every single match and then matched it hard. It will be different in the World Cup considering the pale opposition in the beginning.

– Everyone should be able to come in and feel that they are in the World Cup. We do not intend to let anyone run to their deaths against these teams, especially not because we have players who need power left in the future. We could not afford it in the Olympics but we have it now and then we have to be a little cynical.

You also get dark tactical moves to more important matches.

– Of course there are secrets. We do not need to launch anything now to avoid “sunbathing” of course.

The big star Jamina Roberts warns of Sweden’s easy schedule in the beginning.

– It’s nice in a way to have teams like this in the beginning that you know you have to win over. But at the same time it is dangerous because you can get a false sense of security: “yes, we won and scored 40 goals”. But what does it really say?

Jovanotti 24 Remixes launched by his new label, the SBAM! BEST REGARDS, for the new single, The boom. From 3 December out the first 12, the next will be launched on 10 December.

Jovanotti Sbam! Records and Il boom

Here’s how the singer-songwriter talks about this new project …

THE BOOM seems born to explode into possible and impossible remixes. IL BOOM is not a real song, rather it is a kit, something always ready to become something else, and in this sense the title IL BOOM is enough to define it.

Nobody knows where the sparks of a firework will end, what colors will appear in the sky. My heart has always been beating in four quarters, the console is my first “two wheels”, which made me dream of starting aimlessly, following a beat, following the boom boom boom of a straight speaker. I love music with no predefined structure, flowing like a current. ‘

Streaming ‘means’ to flow’ and if today music is CONSUMED in this form I must say that for me it is not a question of CONSUMING but on the contrary of GENERATING. I don’t like the word ‘consumption’, it’s time to think of ourselves as generators rather than consumers. In some musical traditions it is said that it is the dancer who creates the rhythm together with the player.

Even in my personal tradition it is like this, music is in the air, between those who play it and those who dance it. If I listen to these remixes with my eyes closed, the JOVA BEACH PARTY beach appears and I feel like I’m flying!“.

Intel 4004 celebrates its 50th anniversary today, which considered the world’s first commercially available single-chip microprocessor (Wikipedia). He has an area of 12 mm2, 2.25 thousand transistors, clock frequency 740 kHz, 4-bit data bus, 10-µm technical process and performance from 60 thousand to 93 thousand instructions per second. By comparison, a 30-ton tube computer ENIAC (1946) performed 5 thousand additions, or 357 multiplications, or 38 divisions per second. The price of Intel 4004 in various sources is indicated from $ 60 to $ 200, which is now equivalent to $ 405 – $ 1350.

Busicom 141 PF

The Intel 4004 marks a milestone in the history of computing. Computers were originally mechanical – not counting Antikythera mechanism and some unknown devices, the very first among them were those invented in 1623 by the German scientist Wilhelm Schickard counting hourswho know how to perform four arithmetic operations on six-digit numbers. Serial production of mechanical adding machines began only two centuries later, in 1820 (Thomas adding machine, based on the ideas of Leibniz). In the 1930s, electromechanical computers based on switches and relays appeared, in the 1940s – vacuum tubes (the vacuum tubes themselves appeared half a century earlier), and just a few years later – transistor ones. At first, transistors were field-effect and bipolar, but already in the early 1950s, semiconductor transistors appeared, which at the end of the decade engineers learned to combine into integrated circuits – that is, silicon wafers. In the 1960s, computing devices were assembled on several integrated circuits, until finally a Japanese company ordered twelve microcircuits from Intel (which then had about a hundred employees) for its calculator. Intel managed to keep within four microcircuits, one of which was our hero of the day, who played the role of a central processor. The descendants of 4004 were first its 8-bit version (8008), and then 8080 from 8086 (1978) – from which the era of x86 processors began.

The x86 architecture has dominated the server, desktop and laptop markets for the past couple of decades, but recently ARM has begun to squeeze it out. Apple’s proprietary laptops have delivered performance levels that are at least comparable to the best. in the same segment, with Intel processors – but with much lower power consumption. So far, this does not pose a big threat to Intel – Apple products are a closed ecosystem with a relatively modest share of the PC and laptop market. At the same time, the current mobile chips Qualcomm, Samsung, Huawei, MTK and, more recently, Google, are not only noticeably inferior to the A-family of Apple (from which the M-family actually traces its pedigree), but also do not have such a trump card as their own desktop operating system (not counting the niche Chrome OS). Therefore, there is still no reason to assume that in the coming years a massive transition of Windows computers to ARM processors will begin.

Intel 4004 die

Intel celebrates the 50th anniversary of its brainchild with six desktop processors of the latest Alder Lake family, the senior representative of which told Gadgets News yesterday. Here’s how the characteristics of processors have changed over half a century:

The x86 architecture has dominated the server, desktop and laptop markets for the past couple of decades, but recently ARM has begun to squeeze it out. Apple’s proprietary laptops have delivered performance levels that are at least comparable to the best. in the same segment, with Intel processors – but with much lower power consumption. So far, this does not pose a big threat to Intel – Apple products are a closed ecosystem with a relatively modest share of the PC and laptop market. After the dramatic ending to Act Three, fans are curious as to whether episode 10 of Arcane will release via Netflix this weekend with an Act Four.

If October belonged to Squid Game, November belongs to Arcane.

The hit League of Legends series from Riot Games, Fortiche and Netflix took the world by storm when it premiered on November 6th.

However, after the dramatic conclusion to episode 9, fans have been left with more questions than answers.

One of those questions concerns the series’ future and specifically, if episode 10 of Arcane is set to release through Netflix this coming weekend.

Is there an episode 10 of Arcane?

Unfortunately, there is no episode 10 from Arcane season 1, with the series finale airing worldwide via Netflix on November 20th.

Arcane season 1 consisted of three ‘Acts’, each comprised of three episodes: meaning that season 1 has already concluded and fans should not expect new content to launch on November 27th.

The good news for those fans is that there will be more Arcane content to come, with season 2 being confirmed by Riot Games and Netflix!

Season 2 has already been confirmed…

The season 2 announcement was made by the official Arcane Twitter page shortly after the release of Act three last week.

Showrunners for the hit series Christian Linke and Alex Yee spoke to Variety on the renewal, explaining how the team is “beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane’s first season.”

The pair added that they are “working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and [French animation studio] Fortiche to deliver our second installment.”

You can find a more detailed breakdown of the renewal here.

How many League champions appeared in Arcane?

Arcane is a fantastic series for fans who knew nothing about the origin game, League of Legends, but for those who did; there were countless characters and easter eggs that appeared across the three acts.

The full list of champions includes:

  • Vi
  • Jinx
  • Ekko
  • Singed
  • Caitlyn
  • Jayce
  • Heimerdinger
  • Viktor
  • Kindred
  • Teemo

There was also a cameo appearance from Warwick and Orianna, who many fans believe to be the creature that we saw Singed appear from.

They are peasants, Brazilian companies, Mennonites [culte chrétien traditionaliste, issu de la Réforme protestante]. And INRA [Institut national de réforme agraire] Gives them title deeds to settle. We must walk so that they deign to recognize us land rights ”, says the young woman.

In Bolivia, the great indigenous march ends in indifference

The Showtime drama about members of a girls’ soccer team who survive a plane crash in the wilderness in 1996 “moves with ferocious speed,” says Philip Maciak. “It’s built on the recognizable architecture of bloody puzzle-box ancestors like Lost and The OA, but, starting with a breathless pilot directed by home-run hitter Karyn Kusama, the show cultivates an aesthetic rooted in particularities. From the teen-mixtape soundtrack to the Gen-X icon casting to the hellacious moments of semi-comic ultraviolence, Yellowjackets is a messy, horny ode to a very specific suburban punk vision of the ’90s. When you see Juliette Lewis pointing a loaded rifle at Christina Ricci and Hole and Liz Phair are prominently featured on the soundtrack, you know what kind of party you’re at. Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets is full of mysteries, but it’s by no means breaking new ground. In fact, notwithstanding its Clinton-era nostalgia, the show feels like a throwback to a much more recent time—a time when all the citizens of the discourse would plop down on their couches every Sunday night because they had no earthly idea what was going to happen in the fictional land of Westeros. But nights like those are long gone.” Sure, Maciak notes, Showtime’s rival HBO currently has a weekly lineup of must-see shows (Succession, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Insecure) but they’ve all become predictable as “they revisit the same scenes, replay the same interactions, return, on purpose or by accident, to the same kinds of moments again and again.” Yellowjackets, meanwhile, “slowly reveals itself to be both more complex and more muddled,” says Maciak. “Each episode, so far, has seen the series transform its own genre in ways that produce plenty of uneasiness and narrative tension on their own. Sometimes it’s a haunted-house, political thriller; sometimes it’s a cabin-in-the-woods slasher; sometimes it’s a semi-satirical feminist suburban revenge comedy; sometimes it’s an odd couple, buddy cop, road trip adventure. Whether the show’s baseline understanding of itself is in constant, generative flux or in tailspin, Yellowjackets’ instability is precisely what makes it so fun to watch week in and week out. The singularity of a show like Yellowjackets at this moment isn’t solely due to its style. It’s due to its distribution model. There have been, in fact, plenty of other series this year as invested in episode-by-episode puzzlements as Yellowjackets; they just haven’t aired weekly. Squid Game, Underground Railroad, Maid, Midnight Mass—these are shows wholly animated by deep mysteries, games-within-games, shocking revelations, fates in peril. But they all dropped at once. For a 10-hour alternative history of American slavery, Underground Railroad’s single-season drop felt like a burial rather than the unveiling of a televisual masterpiece, but for pulpy genre romps like Squid Game and Midnight Mass, the open-the-floodgates approach was a huge rush. If a full season of Yellowjackets had dropped last weekend on Netflix, it’s all anybody would be talking about right now.”
