Admittedly, there’s a well-meaning educational quality here – outside of Discovery Mode, the Assassin’s Creed series has developed a reputation for providing more engaging gameplay experiences than some of its sandbox rivals, ostensibly offering intellectual reward as well as more mechanical mechanics. But the teaching style offered by Ubisoft’s stealth sandbox is, in many ways, more superficial than that offered by Red Dead Redemption 2. The games have very different approaches to presenting story and historical themes, but one is much more successful than the other.
When I was an English teacher, I was naturally responsible for explaining good essay practice. There are a lot of rules, but one applied to all age groups – and all essay-based topics for that matter – and that was to keep your interpretations, whether quotes, characters or narrative themes, very narrow, but very deep.
Taking a small part of something and exploring it at length is more interesting and more compelling than taking a truncated look at a lot. If you want to know what Shakespeare is trying to say in Hamlet, for example (a little pompous), analyze each line of the famous soliloquy “to be, or not to be”. If you want to understand, say, the injustice in the American legal system, do what a hundred Netflix documentaries have done and pick a case, and keep digging and digging and digging. It’s what you might call in video games taking a vertical slice, this idea that you can isolate a single, particularly abundant section or level and use it to communicate the whole essence of a game. This is how developers pitch massive games years before they launch in order to win over investors.
And it goes with the story. You could teach someone a hundred facts about a hundred different places, people, or events, but if you’re giving them a particularly rich story about a single time or a single individual, then that’s what they will remember. I can’t retain all the facts and figures about the Crimean War despite having a full course on it, but I feel and feel and remember it was brutal and horrific because I heard of Florence Nightingale. And that’s where Red Dead Redemption 2 succeeds above Assassin’s Creed.
By focusing on one character in the form of Arthur Morgan, or even a small group of characters from the Dutch van der Linde gang, Red Dead Redemption 2 consistently and vividly illustrates the realities of its particular time period. There are no landmarks in Red Dead Redemption 2, no Pantheon, no Acropolis or Stonehenge, but there is a constant battle for money, and an overhanging threat of tuberculosis, and a very plausible, very identifiable group of people who talk to each other about how they feel now this is the end of the 19th century. I’d like an Assassin’s Creed that takes place over six months rather than an entire era, or that takes place in one region rather than the whole country. I’d like an Assassin’s Creed where the focus wasn’t on trying to include every relevant part of the story, like when you come off the ship from England in AC3 and immediately come across Ben Franklin, but rather on a more singular, thoroughly explored, personal story. A cliche perhaps, but the most resonant and urgent story, ultimately, is the story of people and individual experience, something Red Dead Redemption 2, with its devout focus on characters, captures deeply, and above Assassin’s Creed.

At the end of the show, the flag of these Games was handed over to the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF).
During this edition, Morocco won a total of 62 medals (15 gold, 13 silver and 34 bronze), ranking 6th in the medal table.
The Moroccan harvest is divided between athletics, with 14 medals in total (4 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze), taekwondo, with 9 medals (3 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze) and sport boules, with 10 medals (2 in gold, 1 in silver and 7 in bronze).
Commenting on the Moroccan participation in this edition, the national technical director of the Moroccan National Olympic Committee (CNOM), Hassan Fekkak indicated, in a statement to MAP, that Morocco occupies the first place at the Arab and African level in terms of medals won. , adding that the 62 medals constitute a record for Moroccan participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games, all editions combined.
He underlined that all the national teams having taken part in this edition benefited from the technical and financial support of the CNOM, noting that in individual sports, the Moroccan elements have distinguished themselves, because they are the only ones to win medals.
Mr Fekkak highlighted the very high level with the participation of several Olympic champions and medalists at the world championships in different disciplines, pointing out that some Moroccan athletes have a very good level, while others need to review their sports project and to benefit from progressive support to improve their level.
He said that Moroccan athletes have shown a great margin of progress, emphasizing the need to work more to consolidate or improve their performance.
The Kingdom was represented by 177 athletes (126 boys and 51 girls) who took part in these long-awaited games after their postponement to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, which turned the world sports calendar upside down.
Moroccan athletes engaged in 16 disciplines were supervised by 48 people divided between coaches, doctors, physical trainers and physiotherapists.

Machi Koro 2 takes the original rules and adds new rules to deepen and vary the gameplay. What changes, above all, are the cards available in each game are now randomwhich makes each part different.

And like Cataneveryone at the table can therefore win coins (effects of red, blue and green cards) during each roll.
The active player will then, if she can and wants to, buy a card from those placed in the center of the board (5 cards with activation number between 1 and 6, 5 cards with activation number between 7 and 12) and 5 landmarks.
The first person to build 3 monuments is declared the winner.
Material
When looking at the box, Machi Koro 2 seems like a “big” game, in every sense of the word. But that’s just an impression. At least at the hardware level. Since this one is limited to 111 cards, 2 dice and 80 plastic pieces.
We are still witnessing a cardboard gigantism that has no place, as if the size of the box made the quality of the game. I wonder if the game publishers would not be inspired – wrongly – by car manufacturers, and deliver us an SUV when a Twingo would have sufficed. And even more here in Machi Koro 2, when I see that the tokens are plastic. While cardboard would have filled the office just as well. While probably less cheap than what is provided here.
Despite these few flaws, Machi Koro 2 rest a nice and pretty game. The cards are simple and readable, with a clean design. It’s a fun game to watch. The rules are clear and understandable, without ambiguities that could cause a misunderstanding and spoil the pleasure of the game.
Mechanics in Machi Koro 2
Machi Koro 2 is a deck game with flow of resources. The money will flow from the bank to the players and vice versa. But also between people, via the restaurant cards, which will add a risk to the roll of the dice.
And thus create additional competition. The game mechanic makes it possible to win or lose money on every spin. Including when someone else is playing. There is therefore no not really a moment without action. Except perhaps when the undecided person in the group is looking for which card to buy and thus blocks the game (analysis paralysis. I hate you. Read my bio at the bottom).
The game begins quite slowly, the time to build your city. Then accelerates after half an hour, when the combos are in place, and the money really starts to circulate.
The multiplicity of cards and their effects makes it possible to implement different strategies, all of which can prove to be winning. This wealth creates a strong desire to play again, to be able to try another strategy. Or try to mix several.
Like any game with a bit of strategy, decision making, such as how many dice to roll, which card to buy, can slow the flow. But this defect is here offset by the resource gain mechanism.

New main buildings (landmarks)
Instead of aiming to complete all and every same main building and upgrade your powers as you build them, you buy them now in the market. They also now have powers. Powers that affect everyone, and/or only the person building it.
A good idea that works well and which makes the game more dynamic, more tense, more varied, too.
New starting configuration
The starting configuration is also different between Machi Koro 1 and 2. No starting cards and you can start with 2 dice. In the original game, you only started the game with one die, and you could get a second one by building, unlocking this ability later in the game. What to make the more dynamic, more nervous gameand this from the very beginning of the game.
But also, you can buy up to 3 cards on the market with the 5 coins you get when setting up. So the beginning is much more varied and personalized. I really like this improvement.
I already have Machi Koro 1 / Miniville, should I buy Machi Koro 2?
The maps and game mechanics are very, very close. This version is rather a refinement of the first version. Tighter, more varied, more balanced, it brings a real plus, without being a real added value either.
If you already have 1 and are looking to renew your gaming experience, why not give it a go. But you have to be clear. Machi Koro 2 does not deviate from 1.
One thing is certain. If you have never played Machi Koro / Minitownrather crack on the 2, more better good.
Machi Koro 2, Verdict
Machi Koro 2 is one of those games that know how to create frustration that can turn into… enjoyment. As we say in the middle of the board game, “to play happy, let’s play frustrated“.
It is easy to project yourself into a long-term strategy, with a precise plan, but the circulation of resources and not only from/to the bank will create a significant risk. It is difficult to anticipate the dice rolls of others.
We can quickly find ourselves unable to carry out the desired actions due to lack of money. This is what generates the frustration. But it’s also what will create a greater pleasurable effect when the shot goes off without a hitch. It’s a big strength Machi Koro 2.
Despite a box that is too big, Machi Koro 2 is a game that makes you want to play and replay. A clever and strategic game. Better than 1, which was already very good.

Machi Koro 2
I can tell you, I have an unconditional love for SimCity and city management games in general. The introduction of Machi Koro 2also called Minitowns 2is therefore all found.
I started to play SimCity2000 on Mac, in the middle of the 90s, in English version. I quickly fell into the pot, and spent hours and hours building cities of all kinds, with or without public transport, looking for the combination of areas that would work best.
I learned English, frustration, patience, and… addiction. I then, out of a taste for retrogaming, practiced a lot of SimCity, SimTower and SimAnt (managing your anthill and spreading out in the house, seeing the ants get electrocuted on the sockets!).
After a more educational use of SimCity 3000 in the early 2000s, as part of a school support association, I somewhat abandoned the city builder genre. Until 2016, when I fell back into my bad habits, with Cities: Skyline.
Unable to discipline myself on the time spent on this kind of game, total weaning became the only practical solution. So it became a… love from a distance, like that guitar in the store window at the start of Wayne’s World.
All that to say that playful city design is a subject that I master a little too much for my taste, at least on a screen, and on the player side. Which makes me the perfect guinea pig for a city design game, even on the map. And even more when you know that this game is a sequel/remake/extension of a game that I greatly appreciated when it was released.
Machi Koro 2, the game
Miniville, or Machi Koro, it may ring a bell. It’s this little fluid and dynamic card game which takes up, in a way, the concept of Settlers of Catan.
We play cards, we roll a dice, the card or cards corresponding to the result are activated and make it possible to obtain tricks, gadgets, and to create devastating combos. Big box when it was released seven years ago in 2014.
Minivilles / Machi Koro is a family card game, accessible, fluid and captivating of engine-building, which takes place almost simultaneously. After a Legacy version, Machi Koro come back this year with Machi Koro 2.

Developed by Psyop and published by Behavior Interactive, Hooked on You places the player on a tropical island paradise with four Killers and their hapless Survivor Resort employees. For three days, you will have the opportunity to pursue the killer of your choice and try to win his heart before he snatches yours from you.
It’s not the most original concept, as horror and dating sims have crossed paths before, but Hooked on You does it with a cavalcade of beloved characters and strives to really flesh out those characters through the bonds the player forges with them. Even if you’re aware of Dead by Daylight lore, there’s more to discover here.
It largely plays like a visual novel, but after several readings you’ll realize that only a few of your choices actually matter. It’s purely an on-rails experience that will take you from start to finish in a matter of hours for each killer. It’s short, sweet and made us laugh at the absurdity of it all.

The biggest problem with Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim is that its offerings are pretty meager. There are only four killers so far and nothing in the way of secret endings or minigames that don’t stop a spinning object on a marker. Games like HuniePop, Sucker for Love, and Doki Doki Literature Club set the bar high for dating sims with the number of extras, hidden endings, and real content to enjoy.
Hooked on You just doesn’t have that. It hurts to say it, but it feels like the game was designed as a joke. That’s not to say it’s bad, just that you get what’s advertised and nothing more. So if you’re like us and always looking for hidden trails and treasure chests behind waterfalls, you’ll be disappointed to find that none exist here.

There’s a lot of humor to be found, it’s interesting enough for first-timers, and the low $10 admission is hard to argue against. It will provide you with at least several hours of entertainment and serve as a good palate cleanser between matches of Dead by Daylight.
